Category Analyst, Walmart
About the role
As a Category Analyst on the Walmart Advisor Team, you will report to the Category Development Team Lead Walmart Advisorship and will be part of a high-performing team with a proven track record of success in partnering for excellence. You will be empowered to act in a consultative capacity, providing strategic data-driven guidance and leadership to fuel Walmart’s growth. The ideal candidate will operate with integrity, develop collaborative relationships, and have Walmart experience. You will become a category expert in the assigned category and work closely with the Walmart Advisor Category Managers as well as the Walmart Merchant team. Responsibilities
- Support Category Advisors in category growth strategies using analytics and customer insights.
- Assist in modular relay execution and trait management.
- Maintain product images and dimensions.
- Analyze POS, modular performance, and test-and-learn results.
- Leverage multiple data sources to generate recommendations.
- Provide omnichannel insights aligned to retailer category strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of proven experience in a Walmart CPG Analyst role, or Graduate of NWACC CRA (Certified Retail Analyst) Program.
- Experience in data analysis and insight generation.
- Knowledge of Category Management and modular relay processes.
- Experience working with POS (Point of Sale) performance data.
- Familiarity with multiple market intelligence and shopper insight data sources.
- Ability to develop strategic retailer-focused category analyses.
- Understanding of Omnichannel strategies.
- Experience managing and maintaining product attributes, images, and dimensions.
