Catastrophic Nurse Case Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Case Manager to work with injured workers and worker’s compensation cases in the Baltimore, MD area. This is a home-based position with travel—up to 2 to 3 hours one-way—to doctors’ offices, hospitals, and other locations. The Case Manager is responsible for the medical case management of work-related injuries, including assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of injured or disabled individuals. You will collaborate with insurance carriers, medical providers, attorneys, employers, and employees, closely monitoring the progress of the injured worker and reporting results back to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in MD, PA, and DC. If not already held in PA and DC, required to start the process to obtain within 30 days of start date.
• RN - WCCM certification required.
• Registered with MCRSP within 30 days of start date.
• Experience in worker’s compensation catastrophic case management is required. Experience may include:
  • Critical care experience
  • Catastrophic injury/illness case management
  • Disability management
  • Clinical experience in acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma (including amputation), and/or burns
• Recommended certifications: CCM, CRRN, CDMS. If not currently certified, applicant must commit to obtaining a certification within 2 years.
• Ability to occasionally work outside of traditional business hours (evenings or weekends) if needed to meet the needs of the claims.
• Strong organization and timeline adherence skills.
• Proficiency with PC and technology.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
• Valid driver’s license and good driving history.
