Casual Staff - Digital Media Coordinator

Remote, part-time (up to 19 hours per week) position based in New York with a remote-work option.

About the role

The Digital Media Coordinator edits and optimizes media across all online digital channels, focusing on website updates and digital marketing graphic design. This role supports Yeshiva University MarComm (Graduate School) team projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Builds, updates, edits, and maintains relevant YU marketing webpages based on stakeholders’ web requests.
  • Monitors social media posts and comments for content posting representing YU internal stakeholders.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to optimize digital marketing and revenue opportunities.
  • Provides assistance to the membership, underwriting, and development teams to manage and optimize digital placements on multiple platforms, including web, social, app, and streaming ads.
  • Trains and assists content editors on use of Drupal CMS.
  • Stays current on Drupal CMS feature updates to optimize web user experience.
  • Manages, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots communication channels, including website, app, and online video portal.
  • Updates video message board.
  • Develops relationships and engages with media and influencers via social media.
  • Creates MS Forms and implements them on website.
  • Creates flat-screen advertising and announcements for campus digital screens.
  • Administers and edits WordPress blogs.
  • Tracks and implements Search Engine Optimization (SEO) changes and updates process of improving a website's visibility and ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) like Google, Bing, etc., focusing on driving organic traffic from search results.
  • Monitors/creates web pages optimized for mobile viewing as well as desktop.
  • Edits photos and creates marketing graphics for use across digital platforms.
  • Administers and updates Faculty profile pages.
  • Proactively contributes to the university’s evolving marketing vision by making regular strategic suggestions related to branding, promotional focus, content themes, and audience engagement tactics.
  • Updates department Production report on a weekly basis.
  • Performs strategic and tactical SEO updates to the YU website.
  • Provides key backup support for the Web Production Manager on important web requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • One year of professional experience as a graphic designer, photographer/videographer, or webmaster.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and web UX best practices.
  • Understanding of paid media fundamentals (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, etc.).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns, deadlines, and content pipelines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content management systems.
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) to assist with creating promotional visuals and social media posts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced working with digital media, multimedia, video, etc.
  • Solid technical background and proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Digital media production and graphic design experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and emergencies, excellent time management skills, and ability to multitask.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to implement social media campaigns.
  • Ability to create digital graphic design with strong aesthetics that align with branding guidelines.
  • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with attention to detail and within deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills.
  • Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned, and timely decisions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
  • Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.

Pay

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour
