About the role

We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at Good Samaritan in Portland, OR. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and be the face of the company in a hospital setting. You will also have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of phlebotomy experience
• 2 or more years of inpatient phlebotomy experience
• 6 or more months of direct patient care
