About the role
Darlington Borough Council are seeking to recruit a Casual Control Centre Operator to work in the CCTV department within Community Safety. You will join a professional control room team at a state-of-the-art control room overseeing a range of systems including CCTV, Lifeline call handling, access control, remote monitoring and alarm systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CCTV, Lifeline call handling, access control, remote monitoring, and alarm systems
- Work flexibly to cover operational needs, including casual shifts across all hours
- Follow instructions and maintain high standards in all duties
Requirements
- SIA Public Space Surveillance CCTV Licence (or willingness to obtain it within a reasonable timescale of commencing the post; training provided)
- Ability to work to a high standard and follow instructions confidently
- Flexibility to work variable hours and shifts as required
- Standard DBS check required
Schedule
The Control Centre operates 24/7 on a three-shift basis:
- 06:00 – 14:00
- 14:00 – 22:00
- 22:00 – 06:00
This role involves casual shifts, requiring flexibility to work any of the above patterns to meet operational needs.
Pay
£14.12 per hour (Salary Band: £20,001 to £30,000)
