About the role
The Rapid Prototype Casting Lab (RPCL) at Pratt & Whitney seeks an investment casting Quality Process Engineer to support the development and manufacture of advanced turbine engine components.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirements
- Support day-to-day manufacturing activities such as development and release of inspection processes/techniques
- Procure and maintain inspection tooling and equipment
- Serve as the quality technical interface with internal and external suppliers to effectively support the RPCL
- Support shop non-compliance investigations to determine root cause, identify robust corrective actions and track effectiveness
- Develop and deploy standardized quality engineering practices, processes, tools, and methods
- Use Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools to develop and prioritize ideas for, and lead execution of, process improvement projects to reduce process variation, increase throughput, and improve part quality
- Develop ideas, secure funding, and execute capital equipment projects to improve process capability
Qualifications
- A University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Average salary range: $86,800 - $165,200
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Experience working with nickel alloys and single crystal casting process
- Fluency in product and tooling electronic definition interpretation
- Implement, maintain and monitor tooling for cast/core products and designing/monitoring associated quality assurance/control measures
