About the Role
Leads and manages the ship’s Casino Department with an emphasis on core functions including: casino operations, achieving established revenue targets, achieving established guest satisfaction targets, maintaining compliance in all gaming rules and regulations as per SQM, building and maintaining relationships with Casino VIPs, and directing the performance management of the Casino Staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee casino operations and ensure compliance with gaming rules and regulations.
- Achieve established revenue and guest satisfaction targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with Casino VIPs.
- Direct performance management of the Casino Staff.
- Manage financial aspects of the casino operation, including expense reduction and revenue growth through cost efficiencies, promotions, and up-selling activities.
- Manage headcount to support the business needs of the vessel.
- Utilize strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Apply knowledge of basic accounting principles (e.g., debits/credits, adjusting entries).
- Administer the disciplinary action process through coaching, counseling, or termination.
Requirements
- Two to five years of progressive managerial experience in a casino function in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise line (shipboard experience preferred).
- Satisfactory completion of Gaming Board/Commission-approved dealer school.
- Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
- Intermediate computer software skills.
- Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment, quality service standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.
- Understanding of human resources policies and practices.
- Ability to motivate, develop, and manage international staff productively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent) preferred.
