About the role

The Front End Cashier operates the complete register system and check stand while providing customers with the most accurate and efficient checkout service possible. You will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while maintaining high standards of customer service. Other duties may be assigned based on business volume and supervisor discretion.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers when approaching your workstation
• Bag customer orders and thank the customer
• Possess knowledge of the complete register system
• Be responsible and accountable for your cash drawer
• Keep your workstation and Front End area neat and organized
• Communicate all store-sponsored promotions to customers
• Complete the Front End cleaning checklist daily
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Balance cashier drawers according to procedures
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to the Dress Code policy
• Ensure attendance is consistent, as it is essential to department function
• Comply with all policies in the Employee Handbook
• Perform all duties designated within the Essential Functions of the role

Requirements

• No minimum educational requirement
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Willing to work part-time and weekends
• Ability to move and/or lift 20 pounds
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Proficiency in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting English
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distant vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear
