About the role
The Lead Cashier crafts a memorable experience for all guests by performing tasks with a guest-focused attitude. This position involves training other cashiers, maintaining the front of the house, processing transactions, managing inventory, and delegating tasks while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Greet and assist customers while delivering excellent customer service and anticipating their needs.
- Schedule and delegate work assignments to team members and coordinate task completion.
- Train and guide staff in customer service, cash handling, product knowledge, and other procedures.
- Make change for cashiers and verify bag deposits.
- Count, organize, and balance cash drawer; fill out cashier slips and make deposits.
- Adhere to Aramark’s cash handling policies and procedures.
- Follow opening and closing procedures based on operating hours.
- Ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels and replenish items to maintain inventory.
- Assist in clean-up and location sanitation during operating hours and at the end of service.
Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- Previous cash handling experience.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Experience in a supervisory or related role preferred.
- Able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must follow the required dress code and workplace policies.
- Complete Food Handling training and alcohol service training as required.
Physical Demands
- Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
- May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 to $20.00.
