Cashier Lead - Chaminade Univ. - Courtyard Cafe

About the role

The Lead Cashier crafts a memorable experience for all guests by performing tasks with a guest-focused attitude. This position involves training other cashiers, maintaining the front of the house, processing transactions, managing inventory, and delegating tasks while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Greet and assist customers while delivering excellent customer service and anticipating their needs.
• Schedule and delegate work assignments to team members and coordinate task completion.
• Train and guide staff in customer service, cash handling, product knowledge, and other procedures.
• Make change for cashiers and verify bag deposits.
• Count, organize, and balance cash drawer; fill out cashier slips and make deposits.
• Adhere to Aramark’s cash handling policies and procedures.
• Follow opening and closing procedures based on operating hours.
• Ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels and replenish items to maintain inventory.
• Assist in clean-up and location sanitation during operating hours and at the end of service.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience.
• Previous cash handling experience.
• Basic math and counting skills.
• Experience in a supervisory or related role preferred.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must follow the required dress code and workplace policies.
• Complete Food Handling training and alcohol service training as required.

Physical Demands

• Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
• May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 to $20.00.
