Cashier-Host

About the role

The Cashier/Host provides pleasant, prompt, and efficient guest service by seating guests, taking and preparing orders, and processing payment transactions. You will ensure each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to dining tables, present menus, and take beverage orders.
• Maintain seating charts with servers’ station assignments and ensure guests are seated appropriately.
• Advise guests of waiting times and manage waiting lists when needed.
• Learn the menu, including food preparation methods, to communicate details about venues, menus, and pricing.
• Answer questions about food ingredients and handle guest inquiries or concerns respectfully.
• Process payments, including currency, coupons, comps, and credit cards, while adhering to cash handling policies.
• Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Stock merchandise cases and supplies, ensuring proper rotation of food items.
• Follow food handling, health, and safety regulations.
• Take, prepare, and fill guest food orders, including sandwich preparation and heating “to-go” items.
• Prepare and serve beverage orders, including specialty coffee drinks like mochas, lattes, and espressos.
• Perform minor food preparation tasks, such as cutting produce and slicing meat.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest dining areas, menus, point-of-sale signage, cashier and host stands, and food preparation equipment.
• Pre-bus tables by keeping them free of dirty dishes and excess clutter.

Qualifications

No experience is required, though previous experience in a guest service and/or cash handling role is preferred.

Pay

$16.90 - $20.80 per hour. Non-exempt employees receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Work Environment

This is not a smoke-free workplace. Although state-of-the-art air filtration systems are used, cigarette smoke may be present in the work environment.
