Cashier - Customer Service

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Cashier to provide friendly, efficient, and accurate customer service while supporting the daily operations of our Front-End team. This position includes processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, assisting with bagging, answering basic customer questions, maintaining the checkout area clean and organized, and helping create a positive and welcoming experience for every customer.

Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system
• Handle cash, credit card, debit card, and other approved payment methods
• Verify items, quantities, prices, and transactions with attention to detail
• Assist customers with bagging, basic questions, and general checkout needs
• Maintain registers, counters, checkout stations, and surrounding Front-End areas clean, organized, and ready for customers
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and other Front-End duties as needed
• Work efficiently with a sense of urgency while maintaining a positive, professional attitude during busy periods
• Follow established cash-handling and operational procedures

Requirements

• Ability to work full-time rotating shifts between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm, including weekends and holidays as needed, with two scheduled days off each week
• Previous experience as a Cashier, Retail Cashier, Grocery Cashier, Supermarket Cashier, Front-End Associate, Customer Service Associate, or similar retail position preferred
• Ability to provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service in a fast-paced retail environment
• Accurately process cash, credit card, debit card, and other approved payments using a POS system
• Verify items, quantities, prices, and transactions carefully while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain registers, counters, checkout stations, and surrounding Front-End areas clean, organized, and ready for customers
• Work efficiently with a sense of urgency while maintaining a positive and professional attitude during busy periods
• Responsible, reliable, punctual, and able to follow established cash-handling and operational procedures
• Able to stand and remain active for extended periods while performing required duties
• Willingness to assist with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking, and other Front-End duties as needed
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
