Cash Management Specialist

Responsible Duties

• Processes electronic remittances initiating transaction posting in Epic.
• Works transactions that do not post correctly to ensure they route to the appropriate accounts.
• Identifies and moves non-patient money to correct general ledger accounts as per facility processes.
• Balances postings to bank deposits using Epic and Microsoft Excel.
• Maintains timely and accurate posting according to departmental goals.
• Documents accounts clearly and accurately.
• Analyzes and reconciles posting amounts from patient payment and other sources to the patient accounting system and accounting department.
• Enters insurance information and queues billing department when required.
• Processes cashier window related transactions via Epic application.
• Collects patient copays and deposits according to insurance coverage regulations and organizational financial policy.
• Accurately communicates account information to patients.
• Maintains petty cash transactions and requests monthly reimbursement funds.
• Accesses and uses scanned information via One Content imaging system.
• Completes and reconciles bank deposits daily.
• Utilizes Epic work queues to handle exception accounts.
• Reviews and reconciles all postings monthly with the accounting department as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Experience: Bookkeeping and cash balancing experience preferred, one year medical billing/medical office experience preferred.

• Knowledge of business math preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding processes preferred.

• Knowledge of patient accounting principles and procedures.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Maintains knowledge of current online banking systems.
