About the role

Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more. The Cash Management and Credit Specialist is an entry-level position that ensures adherence to cash management and credit policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
  • Follow up with customers regarding past-due payments
  • Process payments and manage reporting on controlled accounts utilized for collateral
  • Assist credit analysts with making and responding to daily margin/collateral requests
  • Update Power Tools Platform and ARAP database to ensure accuracy of data and reports
  • Monitor credit exposure in relation to credit limits
  • Run, review, and distribute accounts receivables aging and credit risk reports
  • Evaluate counterparties’ financial condition to determine creditworthiness and recommend credit limits
  • Various other projects as assigned

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or another related field; however, work experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4 year degree
  • Problem solving skills, ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches, distinguish trends and impacts, and identify causes and effects
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize assigned projects and tasks
  • Strong customer service, time management, and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience in accounts receivable management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Understanding of the wholesale and/or retail electricity industry
  • Programming experience, particularly with VBA and/or C#
