Cash Application Representative II (Remote)
About the role
The Cash Application Specialist II plays a critical role within the Cash Applications team. This role ensures timely, accurate processing of customer payments, credit card activity, reconciliations, and related cash application functions while providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. Key focus areas include operational accuracy, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming payments from customers, clients, or other sources using various methods (e.g., checks, wire transfers, credit card payments).
- Deposit/post any cash or live checks received at the Sterling location.
- Process credit card transactions, including pre-charging, charging, posting, and disputes via multiple methods (e.g., customer self-service portal, dedicated phone line).
- Contact customers via telephone and email regarding payment application or credit card issues.
- Collaborate with Credit and Collections teams and Sales Executives regarding deposits and customer remittance information.
- Perform bank validation for imports and payments while working within the Expert AR platform, including E-Commerce and online stores.
- Complete import reconciliations across different ERP systems in collaboration with GL, AR, and online stores.
- Enter rebates and coupons in the system and ensure the write-off amount is entered into the GL.
- Manage credit card disputes on transactions for payments.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2+ years of previous direct cash application experience in an office environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Great communicator and listener in-person, over phone, email, and video conference
- Values curiosity, creativity, inclusive teams, and achieving results
- Problem solver that is comfortable making judgment calls how to spend time
- Enjoys learning by providing, receiving and responding positively to constructive feedback
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
- Able to work overtime when required

Pay
The estimated base hourly rate for this position is between $16 and $20 per hour. Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and reflects a broad spectrum of labor markets across the US. While it is uncommon for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range, compensation decisions are influenced by various factors.
