About the Role
Join our team to help improve lives and create a safer Utah. The Caseworker Specialist II is a licensed caseworker position requiring a SSW, SUDC, or ASUDC license. This role provides evidence-based, individualized services to individuals supervised by the Utah Department of Corrections. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working to improve clients' lives, reduce criminogenic risk factors, and increase their ability to remain drug-free. This position is in a secure prison facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides psycho-educational classes and groups.
- Provides relapse prevention counseling services.
- Conducts substance use and criminogenic risk assessments.
- Provides case management services directly with clients.
- Engages in quality written and verbal communication with clients, the treatment team, and security personnel.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all services provided.
- May supervise staff with similar job responsibilities.
Requirements
- One of the following licenses:
- Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC)
- Behavioral Health Coach
- Advanced Substance Use Disorder Counselor (ASUDC)
- Social Service Worker (SSW)
- Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science field (ideal candidate).
- Experience providing services to clients with substance use disorders.
- Experience providing services to justice-involved individuals.
- Effective teaching and counseling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of substance use assessments.
- Knowledge of criminogenic risk factors and assessments.
Pay
$31.03 hourly.
