Responsibilities
- Assist Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation for immigration documents and background screenings;
- Provide case management services, including social work, counseling, and treatment of clients, and coordinate community referrals;
- Assist Case Managers with youth and sponsor assessments;
- Maintain client contact for case follow-up or intervention, as requested;
- Accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures, as requested;
- Schedule and attend medical, dental, and legal appointments, as needed;
- Collaborate with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work duties;
- Attend training as required by supervisor;
- Input case notes and documentation within the UC Portal in a timely manner based on guidelines and procedures set forth;
- Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s level degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field from an accredited college;
- Bilingual: English and Spanish with demonstrated proficiency both verbally and written;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to apply principles of logic and critical thinking with problem-solving;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Reliability with time-sensitive deadlines and tasks;
- High level of confidentiality;
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change;
- Pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident;
- Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization;
- Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
- Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Prove integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care;
- Possess relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs;
- Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary;
- Show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route: TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood.
