Responsibilities

  • Assist Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation for immigration documents and background screenings;
  • Provide case management services, including social work, counseling, and treatment of clients, and coordinate community referrals;
  • Assist Case Managers with youth and sponsor assessments;
  • Maintain client contact for case follow-up or intervention, as requested;
  • Accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures, as requested;
  • Schedule and attend medical, dental, and legal appointments, as needed;
  • Collaborate with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work duties;
  • Attend training as required by supervisor;
  • Input case notes and documentation within the UC Portal in a timely manner based on guidelines and procedures set forth;
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s level degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field from an accredited college;
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish with demonstrated proficiency both verbally and written;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and critical thinking with problem-solving;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Reliability with time-sensitive deadlines and tasks;
  • High level of confidentiality;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change;
  • Pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident;
  • Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Prove integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care;
  • Possess relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs;
  • Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary;
  • Show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route: TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood.
