Bilingual Case Support Specialist

About the role

EnCircle is seeking a dynamic member for our foster care program for unaccompanied immigrant children. This program is part of our Immigration and Refugee Services division and partners with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS).

Responsibilities

  • Aid Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation.
  • Provide case management support to Case Managers and assist with community referrals.
  • Maintain the safety of the child while in care.
  • Administer case notes and documentation within the UC Portal according to guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate meetings with foster parents and foster children at least monthly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on foster children in care in accordance with ORR and internal documentation standards and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work duties.
  • Transport and accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures, as requested.
  • Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments and other social agencies.
  • Schedule and prioritize work duties in partnership with supervisor and other team members.
  • Report transportation problems that impede timely transportation requests.
  • Stay informed about all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma plus three years paid experience working with youth required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services plus one year either paid internship or volunteer experience working with youth preferred.
  • Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, required.
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is preferred.
  • Trauma-informed training for serving immigrant or vulnerable populations is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving.
  • Excellent and compassionate customer service skills.
  • Reliable with time-sensitive deadlines and tasks.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.

Qualifications

  • Active motor vehicle license and a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage.
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
  • Willing and able to be on an on-call rotation and work a variable schedule including weekend and evening hours.

Driving Specific

  • Must not have any of the following violations within the last 5 years:
  • Reckless driving, including speeding 20mph or more over the posted speed limit.
  • Driving under the influence/impaired/intoxicated or refusing a blood/breath test.
  • Manslaughter or negligent homicide.
  • Driving after being declared a habitual offender.
  • Driving on a suspended or revoked license.
  • Driving a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified, under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of .04 or higher, refusing a blood/breath test, or violating an out-of-service order.
  • Injuring a person while racing - felony.
  • Failure to stop at the scene of a crash where there is injury, death, or property damage of $1000 or more.
  • Emergency vehicle violation - death.
  • Vehicular assault or willful stopping, impeding, or damaging a vehicle.
  • Blocking access to the service facility.
  • Attempting to elude police.
  • Operating an unsafe vehicle.
  • Vulnerable Road User – Death.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Weekends and evenings on occasion/on call.
