Job Summary

The Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes (KyUMH) seeks a dedicated individual to support youth under court order through home incarceration or supervision. This role involves monitoring youth compliance with court mandates, conducting weekly visits, and submitting performance reports.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 with a high school diploma; prior case management or juvenile services experience preferred.
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license and willingness to undergo an intensive background check.
  • Reliable transportation for extensive travel.
  • Home office with laptop, printer/scanner, and a reliable cell phone service plan.

Preferred Qualities

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently after training.
  • Strong computer and communication skills.
  • Able to manage one’s own schedule and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Ideal for individuals with experience in the Department of Juvenile Justice, corrections, law enforcement, or the school system.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain required contact with assigned youth, including at least one weekly face-to-face visit and daily phone communication.
  • Remain accessible by cell phone for on-call responsibilities at all times, or notify the Director of ATD Services when unavailable.
  • Receive and process referrals and intakes according to Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) requirements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of GPS tracking equipment, including proper use and upkeep.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including data for monthly billing, weekly progress reports, budgets, and year-end program summaries.
  • Participate in professional meetings, workshops, seminars, and training necessary to maintain expertise.
  • Communicate all relevant information to the Director of ATD Services.
  • Collaborate with community partners, primarily with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Detention Alternatives Coordinators (DAC) staff for effective case planning.
  • Stay informed about current issues affecting youth.
