About the role
The Cheese Packager I operates and monitors packaging and casing, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to quality system requirements, and following safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor packaging and casing
- Maintain safety, efficiency, and quality throughout the packaging process
- Monitor the packaging room, casing room, and dry storage for cleanliness and sanitation
- Adhere to quality system requirements and follow SOPs and Master Sanitation Schedules
- Report any potential food safety issues to management and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards and support safety policies and programs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP)
- Demonstrate attention to detail and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Basic computer operational skills; ability to input and retrieve computerized information
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and required documentation
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Make sound decisions and demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve high levels of accomplishment
- Solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience
- Show strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
- Display a professional manner in dealing with others and maintain constructive working relationships
Qualifications
- Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec

Pay
$22.40/hr with two pay increases in the first year up to $1.00/$1.50
Schedule
Monday - 6pm to 6am
Tuesday - 6pm to 6am
Wednesday - 6pm to 6am
Thursday - 6pm to 12am
