Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Explains program policies, procedures, and regulations for participation in specialty court.
- May conduct individual and family assessments as needed for participants with additional needs.
- May develop case plans for assigned caseload.
- Ensures participant compliance with conditions assigned by department head and conducts reviews in accordance with department policy.
- Maintains and updates chronological documentation reflecting contacts and casework initiated with participant, family members, victims, and service providers.
- Organizes files and monitors cases from admission through disposition.
- Updates the judge, program manager, attorneys, and other team members of any change in status.
- Maintains statistical data and submits reports to department head as specified.
- Makes referrals to treatment and education classes with other agencies while operating within departmental confidentiality procedures.
- Prepares and submits court reports for court proceedings.
- Attends court hearings and provides information to the Court as directed by the department head.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in criminology, corrections, counseling, law, social work, psychology, or a related field may substitute for required experience.
- Bachelor's degree AND Two (2) full-time years of experience in criminal justice or human services field.
- Valid and current driver's license required.
- Must become TLETS certified within six (6) months of hiring.
- Skilled in counseling and interviewing.
- Possess a good working knowledge of criminal courts and community referral sources.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
