Case Manager Specialist

About the role

As a Career Navigator with DWFS, you will work with job and career seekers to ensure they have the skills and resources to find and maintain self-sustaining employment. You will help employers locate the talent they need to thrive and meet goals by putting customers to work. This role involves integrated workforce planning services, aiding customers in developing, evaluating, and implementing employment plans.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers to assess ongoing service needs, obtain occupational information, and explore employment opportunities or training.
• Coach customers on effective self-presentation and optimal job placement or further occupational development.
• Provide career advisement, including developing individual employment/placement plans, job referrals, training or education program placement, job placement or advancement, and retention services.
• Perform visits to customers' homes, training providers' sites, and/or employment sites.
• Develop and implement service plans to meet customer needs, ensuring plans are maintained and updated.
• Coordinate service provider activities and implement prescribed program-related procedures with accurate case management.
• Provide ongoing case management and serve as a liaison between customers and service providers.
• Manage a comprehensive caseload of job seekers and provide employment services on an ongoing basis.
• Offer guidance and assistance to help participants retain employment.
• Accurately document customer interactions through well-written case notes in an automated system, ensuring case files meet or exceed programmatic requirements.
• Prepare reports as requested.
• Address unique customer needs and barriers, creating an inclusive environment by making referrals to appropriate workshops, assessments, and internal programs while ensuring equitable access.
• Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors in all interactions with internal and external customers.
• Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use the Internet and Microsoft Office products.
• Keyboarding skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-service orientation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage.

Bilingual candidates preferred.

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position. The company reserves the right to change work schedules as required, including requiring overtime.

Physical Demands

• Carrying/lifting up to 5 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
• Subject to carrying, lifting, twisting, and reaching to perform essential job functions.

Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to other locations.
