Case Manager LTD

About the Role

Make timely, accurate, and customer-focused Long-Term Disability (LTD) claim decisions. Actively contact clinical, vocational, employer, financial, and other relevant internal and external sources to gather necessary data. Evaluate this data against the contract and procedural documents. Perform analysis and consult with peers or management when appropriate. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Employ the claim system fully with detailed and accurate information. Maintain or exceed departmental performance metrics while staying flexible and responsive.

LTD claim decisions handled here can be quite complex, with long durations and large financial impacts, increasing the company's exposure to risk. Create solutions based on research or by reconsidering current approaches. The level of independent judgment required increases over time.

Responsibilities

• Make timely, accurate, and customer-focused LTD new and ongoing claim decisions.
• Contact clinical, vocational, employer, financial, and other sources to collect relevant information.
• Assess information in relation to contract terms, limitations, and conditions to deliver prompt claim decisions.
• Document claim systems with accuracy and completeness while maintaining efficiency.
• Prepare and distribute clear written and verbal communication to internal and external contacts.
• Develop, update, and apply a claim management plan to achieve the most fitting outcome.
• Remain aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in LTD product and claim administration techniques.
• Adhere to operational standards and meet or exceed claim team metrics.
• Maintain a high level of genuine, empathetic customer service in all interactions.
• Build trust and confidence with claimants and employers by anticipating needs and taking action.
• Collaborate as a team, support colleagues, and maintain professionalism and integrity.
• Foster high morale and demonstrate dedication to excellence.

Requirements

• Customer service experience required.
• 2-5 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
• Ability to interpret policy language.

Pay

Salary Range: $54,000 - $91,000 per year plus eligibility for an annual bonus program.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization throughout employment. Work visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Remote Work Requirements

• Minimum Internet Speed: 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload (broadband).
