Case Manager for Residential Well-being

About the role

The Case Manager for Residential Well-being plays a crucial role in supporting students facing various obstacles in their lives. Reporting to the Managing Director for Residential Well-being and the Associate Dean of Students, Case Management Services, this position involves working closely with multiple departments to advocate for and support students.

Responsibilities

• Identify students who need support based on a wide range of issues including mental health, relationship conflicts, social adjustment, financial needs, academic challenges, and family concerns.
• Triage issues, provide referrals, coordinate with partners, ensure follow-up, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Work with the Care Team, Student Conduct, and the Office of the Office for Civil Rights Compliance & Prevention Education to coordinate care and address issues as needed.
• Grow professionally and participate in a developmental plan that offers advancement opportunities within the Department and the Division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years experience in a human services field or a Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience advising and/or providing advocacy for individuals and managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• A positive outlook, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle ambiguous situations.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures through a student-centered lens and identify institutional barriers.
• A deep commitment to inclusive and diverse practices that recognize intersectionality and multiple identities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience advising and/or providing advocacy for students in a higher education environment.
• Knowledge of student-development theories and current issues faced by college students.
• Experience working with diverse populations in a complex, institutional setting.

Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered a base compensation package ranging from $48,000 - $50,000 with an on-campus apartment or $54,000 - $56,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and more!
