Position Overview
The Carrier Relations Manager, Inbound Logistics will lead the Inbound Logistics Analyst, ensuring carrier partners adhere to service standards and operational efficiency.
A Day In The Life
- Utilize established KPI standards to hold carriers accountable through regular engagement, quarterly business reviews, and scheduled Carrier Scorecard publications.
- Develop carrier training modules to enhance understanding of KPIs and scorecards, improving incumbent carrier retention and onboarding of new carriers.
- Onboard new carriers to familiarize them with KPIs from the outset of their relationship with Burlington, ensuring compliance.
- Collaborate with SC Analytics to refine and share Carrier Scorecard data with carriers, focusing on tested and reliable metrics.
- Daily engagement with carriers to monitor yard health, ensure timely appointment deliveries, and address empty trailer levels.
- Address vendor dwell issues at origin loading points to increase driver utilization and minimize accessorial fees.
- Analyze carrier trend data to influence annual RFP carrier selections.
- Work with the Inbound Logistics Analyst to develop skills and focus on continuous improvement of KPIs and standards, carrier accountability, and team performance.
- Provide guidance, tasks, feedback, and coaching to direct reports, aligning with department and individual goals and objectives.
- Conduct annual reviews and provide ongoing feedback throughout the year.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
- 4+ years of related supply chain management experience preferred but not required.
- Manhattan TMS experience required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, coaching, facilitating, and team-building abilities.
- Experience with Manhattan Transportation Management System required.
