Carrier Procurement Representative for Logistics Brokerage
About the role
The Carrier Procurement Representative will manage the relationship between carriers and the company, ensuring an excellent customer service experience. Reporting to the Director of Carrier Procurement, this role demands strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Secure brokered trucks for assigned shipments to enhance customer service.
- Manage carrier relationships to meet both day-to-day and long-term needs.
- Apply industry knowledge to new or complex situations and leverage organizational skills to manage multiple carriers and shipments.
Requirements
- Transportation experience brokering freight is preferred.
- McLeod software experience is a plus.
- Inside sales or account management experience within the transportation industry is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and self-driven.
- Confident decision-making skills and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook is preferred.
- A college degree is a plus.
