Archadeck of Central Virginia and The Valley, a premier leader in custom outdoor living design and construction, is seeking skilled, professional carpenters for long-term collaboration. We specialize in high-end projects—including custom decks, pergolas, screened porches, and sunrooms—and we provide our builders with steady, year-round work.

Responsibilities

• High-End Construction: Build custom decks, pergolas, 3-season rooms, and screened porches to exact specifications.
• Structural Expertise: Execute complex framing, roof structures, wood stairways, and window/door installations.
• Material Handling: Expertly work with pressure-treated lumber and premium composite materials.
• Blueprint Literacy: Read and interpret detailed architectural drawings and building plans accurately.
• Project Oversight: Manage material take-offs, maintain a clean job site, and ensure all work meets OSHA safety standards.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, with a specific focus on decks, pergolas, and roof framing.
• Professionalism: A commitment to craftsmanship, a strong work ethic, and a professional appearance.
• Equipment: Must possess a reliable vehicle (capable of hauling materials) and a complete set of professional-grade power and hand tools.
• Compliance: Must carry active General Liability and Workers' Compensation insurance.
• Physical Capability: Comfortable with ladder work, heavy lifting, and outdoor conditions.
• Reliability: Proven track record of punctuality and meeting project deadlines.
• Minimum 2 person team
• Applicants should reside in the U.S. state of Virginia and be able to commute to our project sites and office periodically for team meetings and training sessions as required.

Compensation

$115.00 - $125.00 per hour

Areas Served: Central Virginia, in addition to both the Shenandoah and New River Valleys.
