Carpenter/Welder

About the role

Barrington Stage Company, An award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Carpenter/Welder to join our team in Pittsfield, MA.

Responsibilities

• Construct and weld various set pieces and structures.
• Interpret blueprints, cut and weld metal, and assemble set components.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required specifications.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and assist during load-ins and load-outs as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proficiency In Welding Techniques And Metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in various carpentry techniques and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with various welding equipment and safety gear.
• Experience with theatrical set construction and assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Must be willing to work with students and volunteers
• Reliable transportation and/or a valid driver's license is preferred
• Ability to drive a 26\' box truck is preferred
