Carpenter (Structural)

Qualifications

• Read and use a tape measure, including simple addition and subtraction
• Ability to comfortably work from heights
• Must have own tools adequate to perform all job functions
• Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
• Must pass pre‑employment physical and drug screening
• Applicants must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US on a full‑time basis

Responsibilities

• Build and install forms for substructure/superstructure bridge elements, retaining walls, sound walls, box culverts, and other similar structural elements
• Measure materials or distances using a square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work
• Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required size using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machine
• Assemble and fasten material to construct wood or metal framework of structures using bolts, nails, or screws
• Anchor and brace forms and other structures in place using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers
• Mark cutting lines on materials with pencil and scriber
• Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, ladders, hoists, or roof supports using hand tools, plumb rule, and level
• Bore bolt holes in timber, masonry, or concrete walls using a power drill
• Assemble wood or metal forms for construction of columns and walls
• Build and set concrete form work
• Pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, vibrator, and screed
• Direct pump trucks, concrete trucks, or crane operators for safe placement of concrete
• Apply sealing and curing compounds
• Perform manual labor tasks to support projects as needed
• Ensure company health and safety policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co‑workers

Pay

Hourly range: $20.00 – $33.00. Compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package.

Schedule

Full‑time, year‑round. Start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.
