Responsibilities
- Construct and repair building frameworks and structures
- Assemble and remove forms for concrete installation
- Build and install window-frames, doorframes, staircases, partitions, millwork, trim, siding, and drywall
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements
- Operate small hand and power tools for various worksite projects
- Take measurements, calculate material needs, and construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools
- Distribute site materials according to project plans and specifications
- Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Follow safe work practices in accordance with Hensel Phelps safety and health program
- Able to take initiative and ask questions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders
- Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills
- Reliable and punctual
Qualifications
- Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing reading
- OSHA 10 Certification
- CPR & First Aid Certification
Skills
Carpeters need to pay close attention to project detail and have a strong understanding of wood and metal properties. They are also required to perform various laborer tasks.
