Position Description
This position involves constructing and repairing building frameworks and structures. Tasks include stairways, doorframes, partitions, rafters, cabinetry, siding, and drywall. Carpenters must have a strong understanding of wood and metal properties and be proficient in using power tools and small hand tools.
Position Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Carpenter
- OSHA 10 Certification preferred
- CPR & First Aid Certification preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- In-depth carpentry knowledge
- Experience using and maintaining power tools and small hand tools
- Possess a keen attention to detail and follow instructions
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and stakeholders
- Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills
- Reliable and punctual with consistent work attendance
- Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing reading preferred
Essential Duties
- Oversee and assist with the assembly and removal of forms for concrete installation
- Use assorted power tools and small hand tools for various worksite projects
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements and assign teams
- Manage material inventory, distribution, and placement
- Maintain project performance and report updates to management
- Coordinate with other trade partners’ foremen and superintendents
- Secure the jobsite at the end of each day and verify proper storage of site materials
- Communicate jobsite hazards and promote a safe work environment

- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
- Frequent walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and fingering
- Periodic climbing, working from heights, balancing, stooping, reading, seeing, speaking, operating computers and tablets, communicating with employees and external stakeholders, and handling various tools
- Exposure to high and low temperatures, noisy environments, outdoor elements, dusts, and chemicals
