Department: Construction Team | Location: Englewood, NJ | Status: Full-time | Shift: Day | Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm

About the role

Englewood Health seeks an experienced carpenter to perform general routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the hospital complex and other areas as directed. Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Carpenter and Maintenance Manager, this role responds to emergencies and routine calls in a timely manner. The ideal candidate must have skilled knowledge of carpentry and general maintenance items and the ability to meet the physical demands of the position. A general knowledge and understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades is required, along with adherence to Facilities Department and Englewood Health policies. Exceptional communication skills are necessary to interact with members of the administration, leadership, frontline team, patients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform general routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the hospital complex and other areas as directed
• Respond to emergencies and routine calls in a timely manner

Requirements

• A minimum of two (2) years of recent commercial carpentry experience
• Familiarity with hand and electrical tools
• Ability to abide by all safety policies, including wearing proper PPE when required
• Effective communication with peers and management
• Strong ability to work in a team environment
• General knowledge and understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades
• Adherence to Facilities Department and Englewood Health policies

Education

• High school graduate, technical school graduate, or equivalent in documented years of experience

Pay

Minimum rate: $18/hour. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. The minimum rate does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
