Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains proper documentation such as work orders and logs.
- Completes work orders pertaining to Life Safety, Environment of Care, Safety and Patient Related.
- Completes Preventative Maintenance Work Orders.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to the determination of the type of material required.
- Calculates cost associated with materials and labor and determines cost responsibility, in conjunction with Maintenance Manager.
- Selects specified materials such as lumber, or other products, for projects.
- Fabricates and constructs cabinetry.
- Lays out and installs partitions.
- Maintains a clean environment in connection with infection control standards.
Requirements
- Education: High school or equivalent (GED).
- Certification, Registration & Licensure: Valid New Hampshire Driver's license.
- Driving record from Department of Motor Vehicles, and proof of insurance coverage, which complies with organization and departmental Driving Policy.
- Skills and experience in proper use and operation of various power tools used in Carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Knowledge of roof installation and correct roof materials necessary to maintain shingled hospital facilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne contaminants. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne pathogens, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, confined spaces, electrical hazards - shock, moving mechanical parts, non-weather related heat or cold, slippery surfaces, toxic or caustic chemicals, variable weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
