Carpenter 1
Position Overview
Performs rough and finished interior and exterior carpentry work involved in building maintenance repair and alterations. Activities include fabricating repairs and installing door frames, casings, keys and windows, replacing screens and window glass, maintaining panic hardware, repairing ceiling tiles as needed, installing drop ceilings, repairing and installing floor tiles, and performing preventive maintenance on all buildings. Assists in other trades as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship, preferably a four (4) year apprenticeship
- Five (5) years experience as a journeyman carpenter
- Ability to read and work from blueprints
- Ability to fabricate and laminate cabinetry
- Ability and willingness to work from a ladder up to ten (10) feet, work in inclement weather, and work overtime and weekends when needed
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy
