Carlsbad - Senior Teller

About the role

Average compensation for this position is $22.00 - $23.50 per hour, plus incentives. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage every member with a warm, professional attitude.
• Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including: Deposits, Withdrawals, Transfers, Loan payments, Wire transfers, Official checks, Cash advances, Gift cards, Open new accounts, shares, and credit card accounts.
• Conduct needs-based conversations to identify products and services that best fit members' financial goals.
• Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service channels.
• Follow up with members to ensure satisfaction and uncover additional opportunities to help.
• Support branch and individual sales goals through referrals and cross-selling that genuinely benefit members.
• Balance cash drawers and support end-of-day branch balancing activities.
• Prepare account-opening and credit card documentation accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Protect member information and company assets by following all security procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA compliance.
• Aid team members with research and resolving balancing discrepancies.
• Participate in branch meetings, community events, and sales initiatives.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 12 months of retail and/or customer service experience, or 6 months of experience in a financial institution or similar industry.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Sales or cross-selling experience is preferred.
• Experience in a retail banking or credit union environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Symitar is preferred.
