Carlin - Metallurgical Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples both in a lab and process plant setting
• Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility
• Ordering and stocking of process laboratory supplies
• Aids in reviewing new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
• Aids in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
• Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred
• Ability to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required
• Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions required
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%). It combines significant assets across Nevada to create the largest gold-producing complex in the world. The position is located at Carlin Met Lab department within the Carlin Met Lab.

About The Team

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%). It was formed in 2019 to combine significant assets across Nevada. NGM produces approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold annually and comprises eight mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities. It hosts three of Barrick's Tier One assets: Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge.
