Cargo Tank Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Cargo Tank Inspector with 5+ years of tank and/or trailer repair and inspection experience for our Gibraltar, MI location. Located at 27007 Fort St, Gibraltar, MI.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair.
• Trailer suspension installation and repair.
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs.
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional).
• Inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat).
• Must be a Registered Inspector.

Physical Demands

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Able to fit through a tank trailer manhole.
• Able to work in confined spaces.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skill in most of the following areas: the ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer, tank service and repair, trailer suspension installation and repair, experience with air brake systems and repairs, TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional), and ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat).

Pay: Dependent on experience. Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.
