Caregiver - School-Hour Shifts

About the role

Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers in Summit County, Ohio. We offer flexible daytime work schedules, ranging from 8AM to 5PM, with most shifts lasting 2-6 hours in the middle of the day. We match clients to your preferred window, ensuring a personalized experience.

Responsibilities

• Help people in their homes with tasks such as baths, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship.
• Do not give medicine or perform medical tasks; these are handled by nurses.
• Drive time between clients is paid, except for the first and last client of each shift.

Qualifications

• STNA license: $18/hour
• HHA certificate or experience: $16-18/hour, based on interview
• Free training pathway: $16/hour
• Private pay client referral: HHA $19/hour, STNA $20/hour, 10% extra on holidays

Benefits

• Three performance raises in the first two years: +$0.50 at 90 days, +$0.50 at 1 year, +$1.00 at 2 years.
• $100 after 30 days with perfect attendance.
• $300 when you refer a caregiver who stays — $100 at 60 hours, $200 more at 200 hours.
• $75-$1,500 when you refer a private pay client, based on their hours.

How to Qualify

• STNA (active or expired): $18/hour, 1-3 days, skip our test.
• HHA certificate (30+ hours, RN-signed unless done online): $16-18/hour, 5-8 days.
• Experience (1+ year at one company under an RN or LPN): $16-18/hour, 5-8 days after verification.
• No experience: free 32-hour online training (6 days to finish, not paid): $16/hour, 1-2 weeks.

We respect your travel limits, pet preferences, and other restrictions during your phone interview. We only assign clients that match your limits, ensuring a personalized experience.

Shift Lengths

Shifts can range from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on the tasks required. To reach 20+ hours per week, you'll typically have multiple clients across different days.

What "Flexible" Means Here

"Flexible" means the days and times you told us you can work. It does not mean calling off whenever you want or skipping shifts you don't feel like doing. Our clients rely on you to show up, and we have call-off steps in place to handle unexpected situations.

What You Need

• Driver’s license.
• Your own car with insurance covering work driving.
• Pass background checks.
• Available between 6AM-8PM (set your window within that).
• Legal right to work in the US.
• At least 18 years old.
• No PTO, no 401k, no health insurance.
