Position Location

This position is located onsite in Gadsden, Alabama.

Job Overview

The role involves assisting and guiding Job Corps graduates during their service period, providing placement and transition services, and fostering successful career pathways for economic self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches students in job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills.
  • Contacts students for placement and transition assistance.
  • Verifies employment and school/placement compliance.
  • Maintains partnerships with employers and community-based services.
  • Attends career fairs and conducts presentations.
  • Conducts follow-up calls with graduates and provides additional services.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures student safety.
  • Trains and mentors students to achieve career success.
  • Transports students for job-related activities.
  • Manages inventory and distributes Job Trade Match incentives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes mandated training requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with students, management, and public groups.
  • Analyzes data and develops positive working relationships.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of departmental tasks.
  • Works safely and follows company policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in relevant field, with 2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Pass background check and drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Previous Job Corps experience preferred.

Work Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting and at various Center locations. Employees must be able to walk, stand, and use hand and arm movements frequently, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. They must also be able to communicate effectively and maintain a safe work environment.

Physical Requirements

The position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. Employees must occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
