Jobs for America's Graduates - Kansas is seeking a full-time Career Specialist for Chautauqua High School in Sedan, Kansas. The ideal candidate should be passionate about student success and possess the ability to teach students to overcome obstacles to graduation while preparing them for career and college pathways.

Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and educate students facing challenges to graduation
• Help students make a successful transition from school to college, military, or career pathways using the JAG model
• Develop positive relationships with students through project-based learning, trauma-informed care, and employer engagement
• Deliver student-centered programs focused on career, civic, social, and service-learning
• Conduct student conferences centered around career exploration
• Instruct 35 to 60 students to ensure performance outcomes are met or exceeded
• Provide value-added instruction, support, and advocacy to graduates and non-graduates through follow-up services

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Lives in Kansas
• Valid driver's license
• Works well independently and manages multiple priorities
• Proficient with technology

Qualifications

• Passionate about middle and high school student success
• Enjoys teaching and educating youth to provide them with tools for long-term success
• Willingness to work in a flexible, full-time educational role
