Career Services Coach-MMC
About the role
The Career Services Coach provides ongoing career development and employability coaching to active students, graduates, and/or alumni through classroom presentations, workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and professional assessments. This role works with the Director of Career Services, Business Solutions Consultants, and other Career Services staff to continually assess students' progress throughout the program. The Coach schedules and conducts face-to-face mock interviews, provides feedback, contacts unplaced graduates weekly, provides resume writing assistance, and provides job search guidance to graduates. Timely and accurate documentation in CampusVue of all active students, graduates, and employer communication is required, as is tracking all unplaced graduates including their employment criteria needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound connect activity, as needed, to ensure ongoing communication between graduates and team
- Provide guidance to students and graduates and always maintain a high level of professional standards
- Coordinate and conduct scheduled resume preparation, interview techniques, job search/research, and other professional development sessions
- Collect graduate employment qualifications and criteria to determine the employment assistance path required to be successfully placed
- Provide availability and opportunities to conduct One-on-One coaching sessions with students and graduates
- Assist in proactive job search efforts by providing job leads, resources and online application assistance to generate employment opportunities in addition to working with the job orders received from the Business Solutions Consultants if applicable
- Conduct community and employer outreach to identify viable employment opportunities for students and graduates within their chosen field
- Support the team's efforts in completing Employment Verification documents and accurate data entry of all information
- Maintain organization of student records and processes necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies
- Document in CampusVue all correspondence between the department and student/graduate
- Maintain strictest confidentiality with school information, including but not limited to, regulatory information, student accounts, balances and payment history, exposure to personal information including names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, and Social Security numbers
- Participate and plan ongoing student engagement activities
- Assist with Externship responsibilities when required
- Participate in various school events as required
- Master proficiency with MS Office
- Other duties as assigned by management
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication or a related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the Department of Education, or comparable related work experience
- 1 year work experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, counseling or business
- Work experience in developing community connections
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong commitment to customer service and public presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external customers and teammates
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or a related field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the Department of Education
- 1 year experience in career / employability training
- 1 year experience in staffing or career placement
- 1 year of call center experience
- 1 year of interviewing experience
