About the role

The Career Readiness Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Career Services in developing career-related job opportunities among area employers for the students of a Community College. The Coordinator also assists in development, administration, and marketing of programs which integrate students’ academic studies with practical work experience in their career fields. These programs may encompass such areas as cooperative education, career services, and special grant-funded programs.

Responsibilities

  • Development of employment opportunities
  • Marketing the College’s career programs to employers, students, and faculty
  • Guiding students on career-related employment and skill-building
  • Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
  • Service on assigned committees and task forces
  • Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational, and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriately relevant field with two (2) or more years of experience applying those disciplines in a field related to career development, placement, education administration, or business; or a combination of education, training, and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience developing new business opportunities and building and maintaining employer relationships
  • Experience with career services and recruiting software platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity, 12twenty, or similar platforms)
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing, outreach, and social media strategies
  • Two (2) or more years of experience managing internship, cooperative education, or other experiential learning programs

Pay

Approximate annual salary: $63,585

Schedule

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week
  • Temporary position, non-tenure track (Grant-Funded), with potential for annual renewal
  • On site; position is not remote
  • Anticipated start date: November 2026
