Career Navigator, Workforce Development

About the role

Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Career Navigator for Workforce Development to join the Programs x Workforce Development team. This role involves collaborative work within the team and across functional teams, managing competing priorities and keeping multiple stakeholders informed. The Career Navigator will foster relationships with community partners, skills training partners, and employers in the skilled trades, serving as the liaison between Team Rubicon and participants enrolled in workforce development programming.

This full-time, in-office/onsite position is based at the Team Rubicon Workforce Development Academy in New Orleans, Louisiana, and reports to the Program Manager, Workforce Development.

Responsibilities

• Supports workforce development initiatives to enhance participants' skills, employability, and career progression.
• Provides wrap-around support and career counseling, including referrals for community-based services, coordination of financial and resource support, resume development, job search, and job retention support.
• Conducts initial intake assessments, evaluates interests and skills, assesses career readiness, and develops individualized career plans.
• Maintains timely documentation of all participant engagement to demonstrate frequent and impactful support.
• Develops and maintains relationships with community-based partners, local and state agencies, and employers.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in workforce development or a related human services field.
• Proven record of client-centered experience, such as case management, employment support, training, and/or coordination of care.
• Proficiency with technology tools and remote working for communicating and coordinating with a large network of TR staff and external stakeholders.
• Successful past performance in providing person-centered care.

Special Requirements

• Full-time, in-office/onsite position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for leadership meetings, video conferences, special events, and operations.
• Reliable transportation is required for local travel to support recruitment and partnership efforts.
• At least 10% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities within the assigned territory.

Pay

The hiring range for this role is $48,447.98 - $63,587.97 per year. Compensation within this range may vary based on market conditions, cost of living, skills, capabilities, and experience.
