Career Navigator SSDP - iCan House
Job Description
The Career Navigator – SSDP works directly with individuals with various types of developmental abilities, learning challenges, and social emotional learning skills challenges. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing participants and compliance in specialized programs.
- Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
- Providing case management activities, outreach, and coordination with other programs.
- Forming and building relationships with area businesses or organizations.
- Utilizing and navigating CaseWorthy database to develop career plans.
- Completing reports for external and internal stakeholders.
- Maintaining a positive network of community ties and a strong working relationship with organizations who refer individuals for services.
- Preparing presentations utilizing Microsoft Office products, facilitating training and presentations.
Education & Experience
- At least 1 years of experience in a similar role, required.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in nonprofit, education or healthcare preferred.
- Prior experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs.
- Prior experience in program planning, coordinating, and managing.
- Prior experience in admissions and/or customer service.
Skills & Abilities
- Intermediate computer skills required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Excellent critical thinking and time management skills.
- Understanding of policies and programs.
- Understanding of Goodwill’s brand and brand awareness.
- Working knowledge of MD/DD, and therapeutic methodology.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Active listening and excellent soft skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and understanding of deadlines.
