About the role
The University of Utah College of Nursing seeks full-time (1.0 FTE) experienced Registered Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) to serve as Career-line faculty members with the ability to teach in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Rank is dependent on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Teach didactic content in classroom and/or online settings
- Supervise students in clinical settings
- Facilitate simulation-based instruction
- Contribute to program development and curriculum writing/revision
- Serve on college committees
- Participate in professional activities and service
- Develop clinically focused scholarship for retention and academic promotion
Teaching assignments will depend upon the candidate's highest earned nursing degree, teaching experience, clinical background, certifications, and teaching needs within the College.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing
- Current Utah APRN license or qualification for licensure in Utah (Utah is a Nurse Licensure Compact state)
- Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
- Relevant healthcare experience and evidence of established clinical expertise
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare teams, and academic teams
- Willingness to reside in Utah and work on-site at the College of Nursing and/or healthcare facilities in the Salt Lake Valley
Qualifications
- Teaching experience in classroom, clinical, and simulation settings (preferred)
- Clinical expertise as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (desired)
