Career Development Specialist-Gulf CI
Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is seeking a Career Development Specialist to support grant-funded initiatives within the Department of Corrections.
About the role
As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll provide services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing, as directed by the Lead Educator.
Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret assessments
- Deliver the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum
- Deliver other programs as determined by the Department
- Maintain and provide documentation of services delivered
- Report monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 “Correctional Daily Attendance Roster”
- Provide information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officers
- Assist Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions
Requirements
- An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma
- Two (2) years of professional experience in workforce development, social services, or corrections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
- An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in social services or corrections
