Career Coach
About the role
The Career Coach is responsible for providing employment placement, retention, and career laddering services to participants and graduates of the Employment Training programs. This role works closely with participants to identify career goals, build employability skills, overcome barriers to employment, and achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency. This role is rooted in PPL’s commitment to equity, housing stability, and inclusive economic opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and community partners, including PPL financial coaches, employers, and local colleges to implement employment training programs
- Provide one-on-one job placement support for graduates; work with caseload from 50-75 people
- Facilitate in-person and online classroom workshops/sessions to enhance career readiness skills of participants
- Conduct enrollment meetings
- Connect participants to application process and work collaboratively with employer partners
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to graduates up to 12 months post placement into employment, connecting to resources and other services as necessary to address employment barriers
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of resume writing, cover letters, online interest/skills inventories, and job searches
- Strong computer and database skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, and data entry
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite including Word and Excel, Zoom, Teams, and online meeting platforms
- Availability to work occasional evening hours as required
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and good driving record
Qualifications
1-2 years’ experience in workforce development, non-profit, or other human services field AND/OR a BA/BS degree in Human Services, Sociology, Social Work, or related field. (Additional experience may substitute for education)

Pay
$22-$25/hour, depending on qualifications
Schedule
Full time, Non-Exempt, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
