About the role

This program helps participants strengthen four key competencies and enhance their professional skills by completing four six-month rotations in Accounting, Finance, Operations or Regulatory departments within the CFO organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze financial data to perform some or all of the following accounting or finance processes: budget development, variance reporting, preparation of internal and external reporting packages, participate in and support accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close cycles, reconcile assigned accounts, prepare accounting ledger entries, settle inter-company receivables and payables, and prepare property valuation.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management for the annual budget process, as well as modeling, analysis and financial support for current year and five-year forecasting.
  • Document key processes of areas assigned to ensure consistency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide proactive process improvement recommendations and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Aid in preparing rate case information as required to support submission.
  • Aid in performing regulatory support for requests or associated schedules.
  • Participate in and support special projects as assigned.
  • May provide work direction and training to other analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in general financial accounting or analysis.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP principles, skills in analysis, problem solving, customer service, and relationship building desired.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in general financial accounting or analysis.
  • Note: Candidates with a Master's Degree or certification such as CPA, CMA, CFA, etc. or investment banking or public accounting background may be granted years of experience to reach the 4-year minimum.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP principles, knowledge of business and legal principles, skills in analysis, problem solving, customer service, and relationship building desired.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with SAP highly desirable.

Pay

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $75,000.00 to $97,000.00 per year
