Care Manager - Caswell Developmental Center
About the role
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and human services. This position is located within the Division of Residential Services at Caswell Developmental Center.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect habilitative care, treatment, and programming to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Develop and revise comprehensive life plans, audit records, and train staff.
- Coordinate activities among professionals from different disciplines.
- Implement and evaluate treatment plans.
- Develop cooperative working relationships with various service providers.

- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and evaluations.
- Ability to write life plans and document individual treatment plans.
- Current knowledge of standards, regulations, and licensure requirements.
- Experience in prescriptive program planning in a residential setting for the developmentally disabled.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field from an appropriately accredited institution.
- One year of experience providing and/or developing person-centered care plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities/co-occurring disorders.
Skills and Abilities
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and techniques of developmental disabilities.
- Ability to write life plans and document individual treatment plans.
- Current knowledge of standards, regulations, and licensure requirements.
- Experience in prescriptive program planning in a residential setting for the developmentally disabled.
