About the role
The Medication Aide/Med Tech is responsible for administering medications and treatments to residents safely, accurately, and with dignity, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role plays a vital part in preventing medication errors, early health change detection, and safeguarding resident safety through meticulous attention to detail and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration
- Accurately document in MAR/TAR in real time
- Observe residents during and after medication passes
- Monitor symptoms and administer meds for relief as ordered
- Report refusals or concerns promptly
- Complete narcotic counts per policy
- Maintain clean, organized medication carts and rooms
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and age 18+
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Preferred experience in senior care
