Care Manager

About the role

This Contract to Hire position is based out of Charlotte, NC and is fully remote. The role serves as a single point of contact for patients and providers, handling inbound/outbound calls, insurance verification, prior authorizations, enrollment assistance, and supporting medical billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle all inbound and outbound phone calls to patients and providers.
• Act as single point of contact communication with providers and patients in a designated geographical area.
• Contact insurance companies to perform benefit investigations and coverage eligibility for client product only.
• Assist with prior authorizations, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
• Assist patients with enrollment process for manufacturer and non‑profit copay assistance programs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, professional, and efficient service to internal and external customers.
• Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and training activities.
• Work efficiently individually and within a team to accomplish required tasks.
• Maintain and improve quality results by adhering to standards and recommending improved procedures.
• Verify insurance requirements to support current billing processes.
• Demonstrate firm grasp of medical billing processes and communicate knowledge to internal and external customers.
• Identify and provide corrective action for medical billing reimbursement support to provider offices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in pharmacy, medical billing, insurance verification, or similar healthcare experience; must include work with J‑code and/or HCPCS.
• Customer service experience.
• Healthcare experience – 2+ years of insurance verification required.
• 2 years of pharmacy benefits experience required.
• Place high value on customer service and empathy.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.00 per hour.
